Working Together for Users of ALL Services!

In an exciting development, some of the county's advocacy providers have joined together in setting up a network so that we can combine the expertise of our staff, volunteers and members to work collaboratively on behalf of users of all health and social services in Northamptonshire.

We are currently preparing a bid to continue to provide first class, local, user-led advocacy services within Northamptonshire

It is a work in progress which is progressing well.

At present the following organisations are represented:

Age Concern

Providing a comprehensive range of services for older people and their carers.  Advocacy services include:

  • Financial Advocacy
  • Care Homes Advocacy
  • Hospital Delayed Discharge service (a free service for self funding clients)
  • Early Intervention – to prevent change becoming crisis
  • Third party negotiation

Telephone 0845 6772220 Mon – Fri 9 – 4 for further information about all our services or fax referrals to 01604 633618.

Non-instructed, issue-based advocacy to people with autism living at Gillets Road.

Long-term, instructed and non-instructed advocacy to people with learning difficulties who have moved from the long-stay hospital, Princess Marina.

Parents in Partnership

We provide a county-wide advocacy service to family (unpaid) carers of anyone with a learning disability.

We work across health and social care, adult and children's services.

Our advocacy is provided on a one to one basis - we ask family carers to refer themselves.

We also do some group advocacy, especially around the
'Developing Community Lives'
Day Service Project.

Another major part of our work is to represent the 'parent voice' on a number of groups and committees for both NCC and health services.
