New Training Opportunities for Advocates
At long last the Advocacy Sector has achieved
what has been a very long time coming. The National Advocacy Qualification has been launched with City
and Guilds as an Awarding Body.
Several providers across the country have been accepted as training providers, using the City and Guilds learning
outcomes and moderated assessment tools. Therefore, advocates will be able to access training with a chosen provider, or mix
and match, but be re-assured, as will commissioners, that the sector will have advocates trained to a universal standard.
Users Support Service is proud
that Sue Armstrong, our previous advocacy manager was part of a team that worked on the course
material and is working alongside Kate Mercer /SEAP Training to deliver courses across the country.
Integritas Advocacy/Carers Federation is another provider offering training and are based in Nottingham.
